Curriculum Overview

OUR CURRICULUM

The curriculum at the Early Years Assessment Centre, considers the needs of all the children that attend the setting. The children have a wide range of needs and our curriculum recognises and supports the development and progression of skills in order to demonstrate progress and achievement for all

The curriculum progression documents reflect the key principles of :

  • the DfE Development Matters; Non-statutory guidance for the early years foundation stage.

(Revised July 2021)

Learning experiences and assessment for PMLD learners is founded in

  • the Routes for Learning: Education Wales (Revised 2020)

Through a combination of the above, and learning activities that are accessed through a range of interventions (including, but not exhaustive):

  • Attention Autism
  • Sensology
  • TACPAC

We are able to incorporate the aims and outcomes from these interventions to inform our curriculum progression documents. By careful consideration of all these factors, we can be certain that we are offering a broad, balanced and motivating curriculum that can be accessed by all our learners.
