During the first week of July, the whole school explored 'The Dot' by Peter H Reynolds. The book tells the story of Vashti, who learns about courage and perseverance when supported by her art teacher. The book was explored at a sensory level, with dots everywhere including outdoor play, food technology and through interventions! Some children took a mathematical approach, learning about circles and their properties. Other children explored the themes of the book through discussion and telling their own stories. Each child produced a dot of their own which was put on display at The Wrenthorpe Centre. It was a week full of storytelling, colour and dots.
