General Data Protection Regulations
We want to assure you that we take your privacy very seriously. We always handle your details responsibly and take great care to keep them safe and secure. Occasionally, we need to share your information with other authorities to effectively operate as a school and fulfil our duty of care to the school community. Under data regulations, we are legally permitted to do this for tasks that serve the public interest and as part of our obligations.
You have rights under data protection regulations, and we would like to inform you about them:
- You have the right to access a copy of the information that makes up your personal data. However, we may apply exemptions to certain information if sharing it could compromise our duties.
- You have the right to object to processing that may cause you damage or distress.
- You have the right to prevent processing for direct marketing purposes.
- You have the right to object to decisions made through automated means, unless we have a legitimate reason to proceed.
- You have the right, in certain circumstances, to have inaccurate personal data corrected, blocked, erased, or destroyed.
- You have the right to seek compensation for damages caused by a breach of the Act.
The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) gives individuals more control over how their personal data is used.
