At the Hospital Site, we create a secure, deeply compassionate, and vibrant space where children can continue to learn and blossom during their hospital stay.  We hold high expectations for every single pupil, ensuring their educational journey continues alongside their medical care. Every day is designed with the utmost sensitivity, carefully balancing learning with our pupils' unique medical and emotional needs.

From the moment we engage with a child, their learning aligns with the latest National Curriculum across all Key Stages. We use engaging, vibrant topic areas to keep lessons exciting and normalise their daily routine while they are in hospital.

We pride ourselves on working fast to bridge the gap between hospital and your child's regular classroom:

  • Days 1 & 2: Children dive right into our curated, National Curriculum-based topic work, keeping their minds active and engaged.

  • Day 3: Our Teacher in Charge securely connects with your child’s home school teacher. Together, they discuss your child’s unique learning needs, current topics, and personal interests.

  • Day 3 onwards: We create a bespoke, personalized lesson plan. The home school can also send over specific work, ensuring your child is learning the exact same material as their classmates back home.  When the pupil is discharged, copies of their completed work and a Personal Education Plan report will be forwarded to their school.

Online learning platforms allow many children to instantly access assignments set directly by their home school via digital devices, making the transition seamless and collaborative.

We are currently working on our new curriculum update, details of this will be published here very soon.  Until then, please see below for the outgoing document.
