Hayley Devon - Teacher in Charge, DSL                                         and SENCO

Hayley has been in education for 22 years, and has experience of Middle and Senior leadership in Special education.  She has completed her NPQSL and DSL qualification and is currently undertaking the NPQSENCO qualification.

Hayley’s specialism is Advanced Early Years and she has experience of supporting a wide range of SEN needs such as complex medical needs, PMLD, SLD, SLCN, ADHD and children with Autism after teaching in specialist education for 19 years.  Her experience also includes recently supporting the WISENDSS team in Wakefield as an Area SENCO where she provided specialist advice to Headteachers and Managers for both Private and School based Nurseries to ensure all children presenting with SEN were fully supported to thrive and develop in an inclusive setting. 

Hayley is really interested in advocating and supporting both the children and their families to ensure that every child can achieve their potential and live life to the full as independently as is possible for the individual child.

Gemma Petterson - Teacher

;Gemma has been a qualified teacher since 2006 and has worked with children in various capacities since the age of 16. The bulk of her working life has been with SEND children from preschool age to post 16, in both educational establishments and through respite (within the community and playscheme based). Her favourite aspect of working in education is the plentiful opportunities to be creative in anything from a sensory story to an art project or a food activity.

Amanda Mackay - Teacher

Amanda qualified as a teacher in 2002. She worked within mainstream primary schools until 2011. Amanda then became a stay at home foster carer as she raised her young family. In 2021 Amanda returned to teaching.

Amanda is passionate about making a difference to every pupil and thrives on celebrating every tiny step / milestone of success that the children achieve. As a parent to a Neuro-diverse child, Amanda draws on her own personal experiences to enable her to fully support the pupils in her care.
