Our AV1 Robots
We believe that every child deserves to feel included, connected, and supported—even when they cannot physically be in the classroom.
To ensure that illness, medical conditions, or extended absences do not stand in the way of learning and friendship, we are proud to use the AV1 telepresence robot.
The AV1 is a small, friendly robot that acts as a physical stand-in for a student who is away from school. Placed right on the classroom desk, the robot uses a secure live stream to act as the child's eyes, ears, and voice.
- Real-Time Access: From home or a hospital bed, the pupil uses a tablet or phone to see and hear everything happening in the classroom.
- Active Participation: The pupil can speak through the robot, rotate its head 360 degrees to see the room, and use light signals to "raise their hand" and ask questions.
- Privacy First: While the pupil can see the classroom, the stream is strictly one-way. No one can see the student, removing any pressure when they are feeling unwell.
- Socially Connected: Because the robot is lightweight, friends can carry it to different lessons, out to the playground, or into lunchtime clubs so the student never misses out on social life.
Our goal is to make sure no pupil feels isolated or falls behind. The AV1 robot provides a vital bridge, keeping our pupils fully connected to their education and their friends until they are ready to step back through our school doors.
